In a recent
intelligence-led operation in the Central Region, the Narcotics Control
Commission (NACOC) effectively detained ten suspected drug offenders. Targeting
well-known areas including Pedu, Victoria Road, the University of Cape Coast
(UCC) region, and Downtown, the coordinated raids occurred throughout a number
of Cape Coast localities.
These arrests are a part
of NACOC's continuous efforts to increase community safety and thwart the
illegal drug trade. Officers captured men and women between the ages of 24 and
55 during the operation; all of them are currently helping the police with their
investigations. Additionally, the crew found a number of exhibits connected to
illicit drugs, which are currently being examined forensically.
This mission, according
to NACOC, demonstrates its commitment to breaking up trafficking networks and
reducing the availability of harmful narcotics in nearby areas. The accused
will be dealt with in accordance with the law after the inquiry is finished. In
order to help combat drug-related crimes across Ghana, the Commission is also
urging the public to keep submitting reliable information.
