The registration
requirements for Ghanaians residing abroad who want to get their Ghana Card
have been formally announced by the National Identification Authority (NIA).
Applicants must make an
appointment and go to the Ghanaian Embassy or a recognized registration center
in order to register. A valid Ghanaian passport, a birth certificate from
Ghana's Births and Deaths Registry, or legal documentation proving your Ghanaian
citizenship, like a naturalization or registration certificate, must be shown
during this visit.
To maintain the integrity
of the registration process, it is crucial to keep in mind that the NIA only
accepts original copies of these documents. You can still complete your
registration by taking an Oath of Identity, which NIA staff will administer to your
guarantor if you do not have any of these documents on hand.
This program is a part of
a larger endeavor to guarantee the security and dependability of the national
system while providing national identity services to all individuals,
regardless of where they live.
