There will soon be
significantly faster and more seamless travel through Kotoka International
Airport. Modern security screening equipment will be installed at Terminals 2
and 3, according to a statement released by Ghana Airports Company Limited
(GACL). While upholding strict aviation security regulations, this update is
intended to greatly enhance the passenger experience.
Travelers will no longer
have to take computers and other large electronic gadgets out of their cabin
bags during checks, which is one of the most exciting changes. Additionally,
unless certain profiling dictates otherwise, the majority of travelers will be
permitted to keep their belts and shoes on when going through security.
Although the typical regulation that prohibits containers larger than 100ml
still applies, liquids, aerosols, and gels can also be kept inside carry-on
luggage.
The airport is
implementing an automatic tray return system, which swiftly returns trays to
travelers for repackaging, in an effort to further cut down on wait times. GACL
respectfully requests the cooperation and patience of all passengers and
stakeholders as they make the switch to this more convenient mode of transportation,
as this new technology is being implemented gradually alongside existing
protocols.
