Israel Kwadwo Safo Akofena has been formally recognized by the Accra High Court as the heir to the Kantanka Empire and the Kristo Asafo Mission. This decision comes after the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka's will was formally read.
After months of heated disagreements following the
Apostle's death in September 2025, the decision gives the organization's
leadership much-needed clarity.
A gunshot incident at Akofena's house at a ceremony
where he was being unveiled as the leader had earlier caused the succession war
to become violent. His sister, former MP Sarah Adwoa Safo, was left in severe
condition during the tragedy and has been getting ready to receive medical care
overseas.
The court's affirmation now resolves the issue, even
though the former lawmaker had earlier claimed that the dispute was about
making sure the will's instructions were fulfilled.
Influencer and businessman Richard "Osebo the
Zaraman" Brown declared his support for Akofena after the proceedings. He
stressed that the late Apostle always placed a high priority on peace and
stated that he had no reason to disagree with his desires.
