17 Cyber Fraud Suspects Arrested and 85 Trafficking Victims Rescued

17 Cyber Fraud Suspects Arrested and 85 Trafficking Victims Rescued

Recently, the Ghana Immigration Service conducted a significant intelligence-driven raid in the Greater Accra Region at Dawhenya. The factory across from the China West Mall was the focus of the operation, which happened early on Sunday, July 26. National enforcement officials apprehended 102 West African nationals connected to illicit operations after receiving reports from locals.

Authorities found that 79 men and 6 women were ensnared as victims of forced labor and human trafficking. Concerning evidence of severe physical abuse and substandard living conditions among the male victims was discovered by officials. The additional 17 people, meanwhile, are thought to be part of a cyber fraud syndicate and were also entering the nation illegally.

The 17 suspects and six female victims were taken to Accra for interrogation, while the primary ringpins escaped capture during the operation. Before being repatriated, the 79 male victims were securely moved to a detention facility. The Ashaiman Sector Command also arrested 93 Nigerian women for alleged prostitution during a different compliance search in Tsina-Agbe.
