Thanks to the valiant
efforts of local emergency personnel, a harrowing morning on the highway became
a tale of survival. A Rhino truck and a Toyota Voxy collided violently on
Tuesday, June 9, 2026, near the popular Kpeve–Peki stretch in the Volta Region.
The impact trapped
occupants inside the crumpled debris, leaving a scene of complete devastation.
When the Peki Fire
Station received a distress call at 7:41 a.m., courageous staff responded
quickly to a serious issue. Firefighters swiftly reached the scene and got to
work. Two male victims, ages 20 and 52, were successfully pulled alive from the
wrecked cars by their unwavering perseverance and expertise.
The two survivors were
gently turned over to emergency medical personnel. Firefighters also removed
drinks and ammonium sulfate fertilizer off the road in order to stop additional
risks. Authorities are urging all drivers to respect speed limits and maintain
alertness in light of this terrible tragedy.
In order to save innocent
lives on the road, cautious driving is crucial. Road crashes continue to be a
major national concern.
