Ghanaians are furious over a startling act of violence at the Tema Community 22 Polyclinic. A patient's relative viciously attacked an innocent midwife on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
The health worker's attempt to enforce the facility's official visitation
hours was the only reason for the unprovoked assault. The public became enraged
as soon as a video of the horrific event went viral on social media.

Fortunately, the Ghana Police Service acted quickly to apprehend the perpetrator and restore order. The incident has been strongly denounced as a criminal and unacceptable crime by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association and the Greater Accra Regional Health Directorate.
They underlined that healthcare professionals
should have a secure workplace free from intimidation and violence.
Instead of using physical force to settle complaints, authorities are advising the people to visit official client service desks. The suspect is still being held and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, June 8, 2026, for a formal arraignment.
This prompt
judicial action makes it very evident that violence against medical personnel
will never be accepted.
