The deployment of Metro Mass Transit Limited's recently
commissioned fleet of 100 buses has been clarified. Many citizens of Accra
believed that these new cars would address the city's transportation issues in
the midst of a growing public discussion about the city's transportation
problems.
During rush hour, commuters often deal with lengthy wait
times, congestion, and escalating prices. Transport officials stress,
nevertheless, that these vehicles were not purchased just for internal travel
in Accra.
Rather, the fleet is purposefully designed for intercity
transportation to link various Ghanaian communities and regions. Mohammed
Mubarak Watara, Head of Corporate Communications, clarified that this purchase
is a component of a larger strategy supported by the Ministry of Transportation
and the Presidency to fully reinvigorate the state-owned business.
He pointed out that rather than being designed for short
excursions within cities, Metro Mass was initially designed to manage
long-distance travel between them. Additionally, Watara advised people to
distinguish between Metro Mass and Ayalolo, a service created especially for
city transportation.
By strengthening public transportation nationwide, this
strategic reset seeks to provide travelers with better, more dependable, and
more extensive services.
