During a recent burial, the Bretuo family of Akyem Apaaso
went through a startling experience. They discovered a significant error when
they retrieved their cousin, Margaret Yaa Kyeraa, 62, from the Oda GovernmentHospital mortuary.
Kyeraa had a low haircut, but the body that was handed to them had braided hair. The body was promptly returned by the family, which sparked a thorough search.
Later, investigators found that Kyeraa's body had
been inadvertently moved to the morgue at the Suhum Government Hospital. The
family is relieved that the final funeral rites have been rescheduled for June
13, 2026, following successful talks and a hearse exchange.
