A vibrant "Storm the Market" campaign has been
started by the National Health Insurance Authority in Bono East. Teams under
the direction of Regional Director Kingsford Gyamfi Opoku traveled to busy
market hubs like Yeji and Atebubu to disseminate great news.
They informed locals and traders about the government's Free
Primary Health Care initiative. Officials offered important health advice and
handed out handbooks with the support of the local police and nurses.
The primary message was unambiguous: by the deadline of May
31, 2026, everyone should register or renew their NHIS membership for free.
Ghana is getting closer to universal healthcare because of this program.
