extremely stressful circumstances, KNUST Senior High School in Kumasi is
persevering through this year's WASSCE. Another enrolled student has completely
dropped out, and the school is in grief for a candidate who died following a
brief illness during the tests.
A pregnant
candidate bravely took the English oral exam with her peers in spite of the
grief. Exams for the 1,022 candidates are going well, and school administrators
are upholding stringent zero-tolerance measures against malpractice. Centers
like St. Louis and T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS in Kumasi also claim peaceful, orderly
proceedings among Ghana's more than 500,000 WASSCE applicants nationally.
