Following a nighttime raid that resulted in the arrest of 13 sex workers, a security operation in Tamale has garnered national attention. The ladies were apprehended in locations including Jubilee Park and the Bank of Ghana stretch, which security officials claim are turning into hubs for drug-related and commercial sex services. National Security ordered the women to boost cleanliness operations by sweeping portions of the central business center as a deterrent.

RSM Adam Mohammed, Northern Regional Security Liaison Officer, claims that the action was symbolic and deliberate. "We conducted a raid on night workers, who were thoroughly investigated and turned over to the police." "There is a lot of trash and filth in our city or municipality," he remarked. "So we thought it would be wise to direct them so that they could aid in the clean-up exercise of our cities," he continued.

RSM Mohammed observed that both international and local prostitutes are becoming more prevalent in Tamale, which has resulted in more operations. According to reports, several of the women expressed regret and agreed to the exercise. "I believe they also thought it is a good exercise," he said.

"If you find yourself to have broken the law, the law will take you on," he said, confirming that the suspects were subsequently turned over and that drug dealers were also detained. Critics have questioned the action's strategy, while supporters have praised it as a warning.
