wesi Arthur, an
award-winning rapper from Ghana, has raised significant concerns after
reporting threats to his life. On January 21, 2026, he blamed his previous
label, Ground Up Chale, and its CEO, Glen Boateng, in a social media post.
Arthur says that in order for him to utilize his own photos for a new project,
the label is requesting $150,000.
The rapper claims that
despite the company claiming ownership of his music and brand since 2016, he
has not benefited financially from his efforts. He said the circumstance was
detrimental to his mental health and emotionally taxing. He cautioned fans that
Boateng should be held responsible if anything were to happen to him out of
concern for his and his family's safety. Arthur claims that attempts are still
being made to obstruct his career even though he has been working independently
since 2022 through his own label, Sisi Music.
