A close family member has claimed that the late Highlife icon Daddy Lumba and his reputed wife Odo Broni were never legally married, sparking further controversy in the ongoing argument.

 

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Zionfelix, Nana Kwasi Sarfo, commonly known as Jigga, who represents the family of the late musician, claimed that according to their family head, Agya Wusu, Daddy Lumba and Odo Broni never tied the knot.

 

Jigga claimed that Odo Broni herself made the discovery, telling Agya Wusu that she and Daddy Lumba had not had a formal marriage ceremony, which went against popular opinion.

“Agya Wusu told me that Odo Broni herself admitted she never married Daddy Lumba. So those wedding pictures circulating online are edited,” Jigga disclosed during the interview.

 

Jigga, however, expressed surprise that the same Agya Wusu who supposedly told him that there was no marriage later asserted in a different media interview that Daddy Lumba and Odo Broni were married.

“I was very surprised to hear him publicly say that Lumba married Odo Broni after he had earlier told me the opposite,” Jigga added.

 

The revelation gives the ongoing family and public discussion about the late Highlife icon's marital status a new dimension.

Tensions between Odo Broni and Akosua Serwaa, Daddy Lumba's officially recognized wife, have increased since his death on July 26, 2025, as disagreements have surfaced regarding public recognition, burial plans, and inheritance.
