The National
Identification Authority (NIA) has formally opened Ghana Card registration for
children in the Volta and Oti regions between the ages of six and fourteen as
of today, July 6, 2026. This service is currently available at the district offices
in the two areas.
This endeavor comes after
the initial bulk registration exercise was successfully completed, according to
Williams Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas, Head of Corporate Affairs for the NIA. The
NIA hopes to make it considerably simpler for families to register their
children without waiting for special campaigns by including this procedure into
routine, continuing services.
In order to obtain
identification for their children as soon as possible, the NIA is urging all
parents and guardians to utilize this permanent service. Families are asked to
bring their children to the closest NIA district office and present all required
supporting papers in order to facilitate a seamless registration procedure.
The number of registered
children in the Volta and Oti areas is anticipated to rise dramatically as a
result of this large growth. In order to assist more young Ghanaians in obtaining
their national identity cards, it is an essential step.
