This past Tuesday, a calm
morning in Twifo Denyase became a nightmare. A violent cutlass attack on Baby
Abienor's church grounds regrettably claimed her life at the age of 62.
According to reports, the suspect, Hormeku Agbemor, a 30-year-old co-tenant, started
acting suspiciously before becoming aggressive. Additionally, he seriously hurt
Gladys, the woman's daughter, who is battling for her life in the hospital.
When a church elder came
to assist, he saw the suspect near the victim's body, brandishing a weapon and
begging for pardon. However, irate locals took matters into their own hands and
lynched the assailant before the police could arrest him. As families grieve
and authorities look into the horrific occurrences, the Central Region is in
shock over this double tragedy. It acts as a sobering reminder of the
difficulties in achieving communal justice as well as the terrible effects of
unexpected violence.
