The CEO of NetNaija, Emmanuel Analike, appeared before a
Federal High Court in Abuja, shocking the entertainment industry. The Nigerian
Copyright Commission accused him of unlawfully distributing films and music on
Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Authorities allege his acts breached the Copyright Act of
2022, despite the fact that his platform is well-known for downloads. Analike
entered a not guilty plea to every charge. The judge mandated that he remain at
the Kuje Correctional Center in spite of his plea. Until his bail hearing on
March 9, he will stay there. This case represents a significant effort to
combat digital piracy in Nigeria.
