Accra's Family Health
University (FHU) celebrated the graduation of 318 talented new medical
professionals. These committed students were from the School of Nursing and
Midwifery as well as the Medical School. "Building Bridges" for the
upcoming generation of caregivers was the subject of the great day.
The founder and vice chancellor, Professor
Enyonam Yao Kwawukume, gave the graduates high marks. He emphasized their
outstanding self-control and fortitude. Forty-three of the graduates obtained
the esteemed Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degrees.
Thirty more medical students are entering the phase of clinical training. There
were 245 graduates from the School of Nursing and Midwifery, including clinical
assistants, nurses, and midwives.
The Guest of Honor, Air
Commodore D. A. Akrong, urged the new professionals to always provide the best
possible service. In a lovely way, he characterized them as links between
"pain and healing, despair and hope."
Exciting news about FHU's expansion, including
new faculty and improved facilities, was also delivered by the vice chancellor.
Additionally, the university is establishing solid international ties with
research partners including the University of Virginia and the University of
